Housing Assistance Payments during the Federal Government Shutdown
OCHA anticipates no interruption in Housing Assistance Payments to participating property owners/managers. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has updated its Contingency Plan which states: the “Housing Choice Voucher Program is funded on a calendar year basis, and the monthly payments for November and December are scheduled to be made timely.”
The Orange County Housing Authority (OCHA) has been significantly impacted by recent Sequestration funding cuts. We have taken measures to ensure Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) will not be compromised; however, OCHA must reduce administrative costs. Fortunately, we have found a way to accomplish this while also improving our customer service to property owners and managers. This new technology is designed to save time and enable participating owners and managers to access their HAP payment information whenever they wish.
For changes in address or other family or employment changes, please complete the Waiting List Change Form and submit it OCHA using the contact information below. This will insure that OCHA has current information to contact you in the future.
