Mainstream Voucher Program

The Orange County Housing Authority (OCHA) was awarded an additional 100 Mainstream Vouchers in November 2020.  OCHA will begin accepting applications for our 2020 Mainstream Voucher Program allocation on January 1, 2021. These vouchers are intended to be used to house individuals transitioning out of Project Roomkey/Homekey and who are connected to Project Tool Belt and will be referred by the Orange County Coordinated Entry System (CES).

Priority will be given to families in OCHA’s jurisdiction who are on OCHA’s waiting list and who meet all the criteria below:

·         Between the ages of 18 and 61

·         Has a disability, as defined in 42 U.S.C. 423

·         Is determined, pursuant to US Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations, to have a physical, mental, or emotional impairment that:

o   Is expected to be of long-continued and indefinite duration;

o   Substantially impedes his or her ability to live independently, and

o   Is of such a nature that the ability to live independently could be improved by more suitable housing conditions; or

·         Has a developmental disability as defined in 42 U.S.C. 6001

·         Recently transitioned or transitioning out of Project Roomkey/Homekey 

·         Connected to Project Tool Belt

Once the list of eligible persons on OCHA’s waiting list has been exhausted, eligible persons will be referred to OCHA by the Orange County Coordinated Entry System (CES).  If you think you may be eligible to this program, please contact City Net at 714-451-6198 or Friendship Shelter at 949-281-6249.
